Psy ends the year at Times Square with “Gangnam Style”

Psy brought in 2013 by performing in Times Square in front of the miniature NYE Waterford Crystal ball. The singer, who happened to be celebrating his birthday on December 31, said his NYE performance was the perfect time to retire “Gangnam Style.”

“The song became too popular, and so you start to have some concern about its life period,” Psy told MTV News. “I’m really working hard on a new single right now… So let me say that in America I need a new single because ‘Gangnam Style’ got too popular, so I’ve got to write a new single.”

The Voice host Carson Daly was spotted holding one of the Waterford Crystal panels that adorned the 2013 NYE ball.

Taylor Swift got the crowd fired up as she performed in front of the miniature NYE Waterford Crystal ball.
