John Legend and JCPenney support Teach For America

R&B singer John Legend teamed up with JCPenney’s “jcp cares” and Teach For America to discuss the value of education with students and to observe Teach for American corps members in action. Legend visited Stockard Middle School in Dallas, where he visited a science class taught by a TFA teacher.

On behalf of jcp cares and Teach for America, Legend presented a check of $5,000 to the school during the assembly. He also encourages all JCPenney customers to round up their store purchases to the nearest whole dollar to donate to Teach For America.
