Eva Mendes at the premiere of the movie Live!

Recommended Movies : Ghost Rider – Eva Mendes stars opposite Nicolas Cage in this comic turned movie. I was actually a little afraid to see this thinking it would be boring and I would be lost since it is based off of a comic, but I was sorely wrong! Apart from being a comic sort of action movie this movie will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting much more when it ends! It follows Johnny Blaze who as a teenager makes a pact with Mephistopheles (a demon) when he finds out his father is dying of cancer, only to watch his father die in a stunt accident. In his grief he ends up abandoning the girl that he loves and their plans to run away together. Fast forward to when Johnny Blaze is older, a much celebrated stuntman with his motorcycle as he realized over the years that he cant die and uses it to his advantage for his career. He then runs into the beautiful Roxanne whom he abandoned years before, and who is now a television reporter. Mephistopheles  then approaches him with a task he must complete to be free of his grasp and then turns him into the Ghost Rider who can see evil in people and punishes them for it. On the way he runs into the old “Ghost Rider” who has the item that Mephistopheles wants and who is the only rider to successfully run away and defy Mephistopheles. Without giving too much away both Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes have superb performances with appearances also by Peter Fonda and Sam Elliott.

LIVE!

Television executive Katy (Eva Mendes) develops what she hopes will become the most watched television show of all time, the ultimate reality show called Live! where six contestants play Russian roulette with a revolver with six chambers loaded with one live cartridge and five dummy cartridges. During the show, after the cylinder is randomly turned, the six will fire the gun one by one pointed at their head, without intermediate extra turning of the cylinder, until one is killed. Thus this will happen anyway. At first the idea is to go give the contestants $ 1,000,000 each, but, while there are more applicants at the auditions than expected, they are suicidal people. This is not desired, the contestants should want to live; therefore the prize is raised to $ 5,000,000 each for the surviving contestants, while the family of the killed contestant does not get any prize. Also contestants who do not have to pull the trigger because one is killed before it has been their turn get the prize.

As the TV Executive struggles to overcome the challenges by the Federal Communications Commission, her network, and the show’s advertisers, a documentary filmmaker (David Krumholtz) films every detail of her glamorous, high powered life. The documentary filmmaker becomes involved in the making of the show by creating biographical segments about the contestants, who are Byron (Rob Brown), a young, struggling writer; Brad (Eric Lively), extreme sports star; Rick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a man who had to spend much on medical bills for his young son and is now trying to save his family’s farm; Jewel (Katie Cassidy), an aspiring actress; Abalone (Monet Mazur), a former super model turned performance artist; and Pablo (Jay Hernandez), a young gay Mexican immigrant determined to help his family .
