Eva Mendes and Scarlett Johansson have both had a busy year! In Jan 2008 it was reported that Eva Mendes was in rehab for several weeks. Eva Mendes also appeared in the movie “The Women” alongside Meg Ryan, Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Benning and Debra Messing which was released this year. Scarlett Johansson has also had her share of being busy with her engagement and then quiet marriage ceremony to actor Ryan Reynolds.

Reccomended Movies : Ghost Rider - I am not a fan of the “comic” however the movie just kicked major butt. I am sure it helps that Nicolas Cage also stars but hey give a girl a break! Girl with a Pearl Earring - the film itself is named after the famous painting but Scarlett Johansson does a superb acting job in this movie. The Other Boleyn Girl is a great film where Scarlett Johansson plays Mary Boleyn who gets the affections of the king, and then they get ripped away over her jealous sister and the kings new-found fascination for her (of course the sister ends up the queen and we all know where that got her) However I found this movie to be very fascinating regardless of the fact I wasn’t exactly interested in watching it for the sheer curiosity of another “royal” story. It is definitely a must see!

Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Bening, Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes and Debi Mazar at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Women’ at Mann Village Theater in Westwood, California.

 The Women is based on the George Cukor’s 1939 film and Clare Boothe Luce’s 1936 stage play.

The story centers on a group of gossipy, high-society women who spend their days at the beauty salon and haunting fashion shows. The sweet, happily-wedded Mary Haines finds her marriage in trouble when shop girl Crystal Allen gets her hooks into Mary’s man. Naturally, this situation becomes the hot talk amongst Mary’s catty friends, especially the scandalmonger Sylvia Fowler, who has little room to talk - she finds herself on a train to Reno and headed for divorce right after Mary.
